Energy consumption analysis of district cooling systems
Zhu Yingxin, Wang Gang and Jiang Yi
In order to clarify energy consumption problems with district cooling systems, sets out energy consumption level by a detailed analysis of two classic district cooling system case studies in Japan. Comparing with the cooling and heating energy consumption data of Chinese typical public buildings, points out the ultimate causes for the high energy consumption of district cooling systems. Based on an analysis of some successful district cooling projects in developed countries, discusses the problems encountered in district cooling systems. Considers that the energy saving preconditions for district cooling systems are sufficient concentration of cooling users and enough low-cost natural cold sources.
